Promoting Young Children’s Social and Emotional Health

Young Children's Magazine Article Based on Geneva Day School

We are proud to announce that the March 2018 issue of Young Children Magazine features the article "Promoting Young Children's Social and Emotional Health" by Jeannie Ho and Suzanne Funk, director of Geneva Day School. The article explains that social and emotional health is as important as physical health. The bulk of the article is based on the observations of Dr. Ho and the early childhood education practices we utilize at Geneva Day School every day. While many portions include name changes to offer a certain level of anonymity, all of the yellow highlighted areas come directly from Geneva Day School and what we practice every day. Thank you to teachers Daisy Lizama, Sherry Pyle and Brenda Dobbins for their important contributions to this research article and to Lynn Makris for the photos (highlighted in yellow).
