Dear Fellow Parents and Friends of Geneva,
As proud parents of the Geneva Day School, we are excited to announce that our 19th Annual Fundraising Auction will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012. This special evening is our school’s main fundraising event for the year, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Geneva Day School. With the help of our community sponsors, last year we were able to raise $20,000. In these difficult economic times, the funds raised at the Auction are currently being used to assist our families in need and ensure that their children can continue attending Geneva Day School. Our school has been providing the community’s children with a top quality education in a nurturing environment for over 46 years. This would not be possible without the help of our wonderful community and the generous supporters of Geneva’s educational mission. We would greatly appreciate your support. Contributions can be made in the form of:
- Auction Item Donations ( Gift certificates, products, services, vouchers for special experiences…)
- Advertising
- Sponsorships to help underwrite expenses
Making a contribution to the Auction not only supports our school, but also provides valuable recognition for your business with our 200 families currently attending Geneva Day School in addition to alumni, staff, and grandparents.
As a donor/sponsor, you or your organization’s name will be featured in our widely circulated Auction Catalog and at the event where we will display your brochures, cards, signs and or samples. At Geneva Day School, we encourage our
families to patronize businesses that support our school.
Please complete and return appropriate forms to the school by mail, fax, drop off, email to GDSAuction2012@gmail.com, or we can arrange for a volunteer to pick up.
Geneva Day School is a non-profit organization under the IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) and all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by the law.
Your donation to support this evening will help ensure the success of this year’s Auction. On behalf of the students, parents, teachers and Auction Committee, we thank you very much for your time and generosity. Get ready for a fabulous evening celebrating what makes Geneva Day School special at our 19th Annual Silent & Live Fundraising Auction “Totally Awesome 80′s.” Each one of you can play a role and we want your support! There are so many ways to get involved and participate in this event, such as:
Who will you see over the Thanksgiving holiday? ASK for donations from your friends and family.
Do not forget to ask Grandparents to submit a Love Letter to be printed in our Auction Catalog.
SPONSOR a portion of the auction expenses such as Decorations or Entertainment.
SELL sponsorships or advertisements to your family, friends and business colleagues. Over 250 printed catalogs will be distributed, which is a great opportunity to provide a business with exposure to our community.
VOLUNTEER your time and services on one of our many committees and enjoy the thrill of making this auction one of the most memorable ever.
DONATE a bottle of wine (minimum value of $20 please). If you are out wine shopping this holiday season, select a special bottle for the Live Auction Wine Cellar.
CLASS BASKETS are a significant source of revenue for the auction. Each class will be recognized in the Auction Catalog and the night of the event for their contribution. Please consider donating the minimum amount for this effort. More information will be forthcoming from your Room Moms.
ATTEND the “Totally Awesome 80′s” Auction. Invite your family and friends for an exciting evening of dinner, dancing, karaoke, and the opportunity to bid on fabulous silent and live auction items.

Seeking Geneva Day School parents with imagination, determination, enthusiasm, contacts and resources who would like to make the Auction a successful endeavor. Your efforts will be an exhilarating and rewarding experience. We need your ideas, time, and donations!
HELP NEEDED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Acquisitions-Find donors, campaign and follow-up to secure donations for the auction.
Sponsorships-Seek out sponsors in order to raise funds to pay for a specific part of the event.
Advertising-Secure ads from the community for the auction catalog.
Please help us to bring in amazing auction items, valuable advertising and heartfelt love notes for this year’s auction! Remember, all contributions to this auction will ultimately serve your children.
