3s Classes
Half-time, self-contained classes, three days a week, provide three-year-old children with many opportunities to experience and explore the world around them. Learning takes place through a hands-on approach with projects and activities that appeal to the developmental level and interests of three-year-olds. Manipulatives are visually attractive, enticing the children to touch, taste, and smell. A feeling of “belonging” is generated as children learn to play, share, take turns and develop relationships with peers and staff.
Classes begin with a period of free play, including art and a cognitive project. Circle time for a game, movement activity or story is followed by snack and playground time. Curriculum themes are enhanced through special programs and visiting “experts.” Music and movement and art programs enrich each child’s school experience.
