3’s Classes
Half-time, self-contained classes, three days a week, provide three-year old children with many opportunities to experience and explore the world around them. Learning takes place through a hands-on approach with projects and activities that appeal to the developmental level and interests of the children. Manipulatives are visually attractive, enticing the children to touch, taste, and smell. A feeling of “belonging” is generated as a child learns to play, share, take turns and negotiate relationships with peers.
Classes begin with a period of free play, including art and a cognitive project. Circle time for a game, movement activity, or story is followed by snack and playground time. Curriculum themes are enhanced through special programs and visiting “experts.” Music/movement and art programs enrich each child’s school experience.
